Reuse

When you have finished with books, they can be donated to the English Street Class teaching English to youngsters in town. Find them on Facebook

Donate any clothes you no longer need to the Dar Liouba charity.

And take opportunities to reuse what others no longer need - for books (in French and English), there's a trove of second-hand treasures at Le Bibliophile in the medina (to find it, walk into the medina through the gateway of L'Horloge/ the clocktower, and on your right you will see a path just inside the walls, and the bookshop's blue shutters about 10 metres along). Or look for second-hand books spread out on the ground by traders e.g. on the central Ave. Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah street.

Other secondhand items (household items, clothes, DVDs etc.) can be found sold on the streets to the east of the main market street through the medina

Try supporting a local upcycling custom by replacing pan scourers with the strips of old fishing net sold for this (and, for the brave, for skin exfoliation too) in the market.
